Tina has spent all her life accepting that she is different. Working as a customs officer she can sniff out crime-breakers and almost sense the presence of evil. But a mysterious traveller awakens something deep within her. This inspires a journey which throws Tina entire existence up in the air, eventually revealing her true self. Danish-Iranian director Ali Abbassi makes his Cannes debut with this timely reboot of Nordic folklore from John Ajvide Lindqvist - the writer of cult vampire fable 'Let The Right One In.' Abbassi’s genre-blurring Cannes premiere blends the supernatural horror with contemporary social realism and romance to create a universal parable about tribalism, racism and fear of the Other.
