For those who love architecture

Architecture can’t be always described and captured through photography, therefore cinema serves as a tool to bring out the drama of architecture and architect ever more often. The Riga IFF launches an architecture film programme with screenings at one of the most remarkable new buildings in Riga – the National Library of Latvia.

Similar to conversations about architecture among the professionals, this film programme depicts all the hottest themes on the subject. We will examine the urban activism in New York City and open many doors of apartments in the standardized housing blocks built in the post-socialist countries.

The highs and lows of the personality of an architect will be revealed by exploring the phenomena of fame, corruption and crime as well.
You are welcome to join the discussions with filmmakers, architects, urban planners and designers right after each screening.
