1981: One year before her death, famous actress Romy Schneider retreats to a spa hotel with her friend Hilde in the town of Quiberon, Brittany. When two journalists arrive to conduct an interview, Hilde tries to shield her friend from invasive interrogation tactics. For three days the interaction between the four people ranges from sensitivity to brutal manipulation. The interview forms the basis of this Emily Atlef’s film that shows the special atmosphere of these three days in which Schneider bares her soul – to breaking point. A multi-faceted portrait emerges of a compelling actress and woman who unsparingly gives her all and yet believes she has seldom truly been seen or understood.
